OUR MISSION:
Fashion Group International of Los Angeles is the premiere business/fashion organization in Southern California whose mission is to inform, educate and most importantly connect professionals in the industry with one another. We offer business seminars, social gatherings, and other monthly networking venues for our members and their guests. Though
the FGILA Foundation, we support new young talent though our annual FGILA Scholarship Program. We are part of Fashion Group International, a non-profit association of more than 7,000 executives, designers and entrepreneurs representing all areas of the fashion industries.

Hollywood 2010: The Art of Motion Picture Costume Design

They're ready for their close-up! Don't miss the upcoming 18th Annual Art of Motion Picture Costume Design exhibition, where you'll get an up close look at over 100 costumes from over two dozen of last year's movies, such as Julie & Julia, Star Trek, An Education, and The Young Victoria. It's a rare opportunity to freeze the action and marvel at the imagination, artistry and intricacy of the costume designs. Also on display will be the fashions from The Duchess, the 2009 Academy Award® winner for Best Costume Design.

Our own John Arguelles receives FGI's "President's Award"

Each year, at its Annual Meeting, the Fashion Group International's President's Award is given to the individual who, on a volunteer basis, contributes at the highest possible level. This year, John Arguelles has been chosen as the recipient of this honor. John was selected because of his tireless efforts for our group here in Los Angeles and for his amazing work organizing Red Carpet events like our "Meet the Designers & Their Muse" kickoff to Downtown L.A. Fashion Week.
John, you are one in a million....but we all knew that, didn't we?

Sherry D. Wallen
Sherry is a CPA at J. H. Cohn LLP. She provides a variety of tax, audit and accounting, and consulting services to her client in various industries including manufacturing, apparel and beauty. Find a good CPA and you find peace of mind.

Gia Gennuso
Gia is currently a sophomore at Chapman University where she is majoring in public relations and advertising and receiving minor in communications. She has also worked in retail since the age of 15! Everything about fashion interests Gia, whether it is styling, sales or merchandising. Gia's professional goal, however, is to pursue a career in Fashion Public Relations. Gia joined FGILA to make new friends and network. Look for her at our next Flock or Event!
